Blog #7: My Hometown

Hello! This is Koichi. I spend a good time with my family in Hakodate, Hokkaido. I think this is a good place. Today, I'm going to introduce my home town to you.

Hakodate is one of the most historic towns. That's why there are many old stuffs.

All of them really exist in Hakodate. These pictures are like foreign countries, aren't they?  Hakodate used to have a port which was allowed to trade with other countries, so Hakodate is influenced by this history.

Hakodate is also a beautiful town. I'll show you some pictures.

The first one is very famous. The night view is known as one of the most beautiful night views in the world. It is said that this night view deserves a million dollars. I think it is true. The second one shows slope. Hakodate has many slopes. The slope in this picture is the best one of them. I think almost every people in Hakodate know where it is. Although this is a picture taken during summer, this slope is also wonderful in winter.

Hakodate has many delicious food. I really suggest you should go to asaichi if you visit Hakodate. Asaichi is like Tsukiji in Tokyo. You can eat seafood.

Because asaichi is next to Hakodate Station, it is easy to visit there.

As I've explained, Hakodate is very fascinating city. If you have never visited here, you should come as soon as possible! If you have visited here before, you should come again!!

  1. I've only been to Niseko, and I can't say I had a good experience there. I would like to go to Hokkaido once more, if only it didn't cost more than going to New York. I love freezing weather and wintry landscapes.

  2. Maybe because of the pictures, but the place doesn't look like Japan much. The atmosphere of the town seems like a different country which is very nice. As Japanese, I wish to go there someday.
I wish to eat the fish there. The picture makes me hungry.
